The first in a series of TESOL/ELT tools, a sentence scrambler.

One of the ways of making people really look at all the component parts of a sentence is to scramble the word order and ask your student to put it together.

I find them tedious to write out, and check, by hand so I’ve come up with this simple tool to make scrambled sentences.

Simply enter your sentence, then press ‘Scramble!. You can use a capital letter on the first word as a clue if you like. You can even have your sentence scrambled without spaces for a even more challenging experience.

And, of course, if you teach other languages it works for that too. Try it!
